Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are best friends that do a lot of things together, but one thing they won’t be working on is the made for TV movie, “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Demi Lovato told J-14 magazine, “I am not going to be in the Wizards movie. I don’t know how those rumors got started.”
Lovato’s, 16, current projects include the Disney channel original series “Sonny With A Chance.” She’ll also appear in the Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Experience and “Camp Rock 2″ in 2009. “Sonny With A Chance” debuts on the Disney Channel at 8PM/7 PM Central on February 8, 2009. The debut will feature two back to back episodes.
Busy schedules are also to blame for Demi’s breakup from Alex DeLeon, the frontman for the band The Cab. A source told Star, “He told Demi that he didn’t think he’s have much time to see her this winter because he’d be off touring.”
In addition to Demi’s filming schedule, she’s also planning a concert tour in support of her music.
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been BFFs for a long while now, but that doesn’t mean the girls haven’t had their share of fights. The two told Twist that they fight, but they also know how to get over it quickly. Recently the two had a major fight, which caused Demi to be nervous about calling her old pal Selena.
“There were things we both need to say,” Demi said. “I just called her and was like ‘OK, just say it, so we don’t fight’”
All it took was the phone call to immediately defuse the situation.
“Then I said what was bothering me, and Selena was like ‘OK, I’m sorry.’ And I said ‘Me too.’”
Selena Gomez said clearing the air is as easy as talking.
“Sometimes, especially with me and Demi, we get caught up when we’re doing different things,” Selena said. “We need to make sure we have time for each other and really appreciate our friendship.”
These two can’t stay mad at each other for long, says Demi.
“We don’t like to stay mad at each other,” she said.
It’s all love, according to Selena.
“Thank goodness me and Demi have the relationship we do,” she said. “We’ll sit down and talk to each other and say ‘Look I’m feeling this way so let’s fix it because I love you.’ Sometimes we need to be reminded that we need each other.”
BFFs Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato stand back to back in this promo pic for their upcoming Disney Channel original movie, “Princess Protection Program.” The 16-year-old teen queens star as Rosalina (Lovato) and Carter (Gomez) in the film. Princess Rosalina is threatened by an evil dictator bent on taking control of her country and is whisked away and placed into the Princess Protection Program, a secret agency that watches over imperiled princesses around the world. She’s taken to her protector’s home where she meets Carter and learns how to be a normal teenager. The movie also stars Samantha Droke, Nicholas Braun and Kevin Schmidt and will premiere on Disney Channel in January 2009.
Disney Channel had their stars coming out to celebrate the New Year’s Eve with “Totally New Year”. Cast of “Wizards of Waverly Place”, Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, and Jennifer Stone, served as the host of the show that aired starting 5 P.M. ET. Beside entertaining viewers while counting down to the year 2009, “Totally New Year” presented an awards show which winners were selected through an online poll at Disney.com. Among the categories given out are Totally Best Guest, Totally Silly Siblings, Totally Hair-Raising and Totally Random Relatives.
Throughout the show that ran up to 11.30 P.M., guest stars like Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Demi Lovato, Brandon Smith, Brenda Song, Mitchel Musso, and Jonas Brothers did a favor by showing up. Miley and Jonas Brothers in particular appeared through screens, promoting their new shows that will air in 2009.
Just Jared Junior reports that BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez had their SayNow numbers hacked for the new year. When a fan would call, an innapropriate song would play. Sources now say, the numbers have been fixed.
